ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr Sally Ayesa is many things. A dual-trained radiologist and nuclear medicine specialist, academic, educator, writer, mother and starter of conversations.
Sally was awarded the HR Sear Prize for the 2017 RANZCR Part II Exam Series, and has spent her time since trying to dissect how she did it and analyse the mistakes she made. After passing the RANZCR Part II exam, Sally has become actively involved in registrar teaching and helping others prepare for the exam, as well as medical student and radiology community education. Some call her a radiology educationalist.

She is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney Medical School, where she is Head of Specialty for Medical Imaging. She presents for Radiopaedia, Lightbox Radiology Education and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists. If she stops getting distracted by writing books and creating nationally recognised education programs she might one day finish her PhD.

Her first book Professional Skills in Radiology was published in May 2025 by CRC Press.

The advice and tips on this blog are general only, based on my experiences of preparation for and sitting the exams. As I always say in teaching, what worked for me might not necessarily work for you - and others may have better approaches to some of the topics on this blog. If you strongly disagree with any of the content I would love to hear from you so I can learn more.
